But the Lord said to Samuel, “. . . .The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 NIV Lots of time is spent on appearances. The young desire to look older—the old desire to look younger and everybody wants to look good. We usually have these desires for the approval of other people. Our Creator is not concerned with how we look because He made us as we are. The bodies inhabited now by our spirits are growing old and changing from the moment we are born. These houses will one day be replaced with permanent temples that will never perish. In the meantime, we can focus on keeping our hearts acceptable to God. That's where He's looking and His opinion of our heart's condition is all that matters. God always sees beauty in a loving heart.
