God's Trying to Tell Us Something!

Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:6-11 New International Version (NIV) When the Creator of all that exists speaks to us, we need to listen; especially when we are invited to speak back to Him through prayer. The arrogance of mankind to not accept that God is the Maker of everything and that He loves everything He has made is baffling. Who do we think we are? How did we come to be? Where will we go when our life on this planet comes to an end or worse, when this world ceases to be a place that sustains life for those who are still alive? The earth and everything about it was designed for life. God is the Designer. He is trying to tell us something we really need to know. That, my friend, is mercy because we don't really deserve to know. When we pray, God hears us. He may not respond in the way we would like Him to, but He knows things we don't. He has a plan for this world He made and His will shall be done as surely as we see the sun in the sky. We must seek His will while He's still willing to let us because one day He won't. He allows us to know His will through His Word. Jesus is the Word made flesh who dwelt among us so could get to know our Heavenly Father and His Word does not return to Him void. We know God's love through His only Son Jesus who gave His life to reconcile us to our Creator and by that same love He rose from the grave promising us eternal life when we accept Christ as our Savior. Don't wait too long because this is an offer that will one day expire and the label has no date. What will happen when it does end? According to God's Word, that's something we don't want to know. Seek Him now, while He may be found. You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, “You did not make me”? Can the pot say to the potter, “You know nothing”? Isaiah 29:16 NIV
